The Cleaning Process

Our cleaning procedure

The professional rug wash involves more specialised steps compared to wall-to-wall carpet cleaning. We have been developing and improving this procedure over 35 years to be sure we can achieve the best results possible.

 First Step: Inspection

Rugs must be inspected thoroughly prior to cleaning. If necessary,  we will held a consultation with the costumer.

Dusting

The first process includes the removal of as much dry soil, dust, hair, house dust mites and other particles as possible using a dusting and beating machine. If needed, the rugs may be put through this process more than once.

Pre-Treatment

The rug is pre-cleaned by immersion in full water using mild,  biodegradable detergents and soft brushes. During this process we inspect the rug carefully to identify eventual stains which may require special attention and treatment.

Rug Wash

The rugs are put through our special high performance rug washing machine. Using water jets, our machine wash the rugs thoroughly and ensures no detergent left-overs remain.

Centrifuge spin

Using a centrifuge machine we remove the most part of the water from the rugs to make them ready for drying.

Controlled Drying

Our special drying room has a temperature and humidity controlled environment which ensures that the pile’s springy soft texture of the rugs re-appears. The rugs are hung to dry quickly and properly, without the risk of mould or mildew.

 Fringe detailing

After inspection, the fringes are treated with specialist materials, and, if necessary, re-cleaned.

We are extremely consistent in our procedure steps, but every rug requires slightly different treatment. If

we are not satisfied with the results we will reprocess them.

 Final Inspection and packaging

The rugs are put through a final inspection and than packaged for delivery.
